Watch Dogs Legion takes the open-world hacking series in a new direction. This time around, instead of one lone hacking savant, you can recruit a team of operatives to DedSec. Each comes with their own unique gadgets, weapons and abilities. As you explore the streets of London, collect Tech Points to unlock upgrades and new operatives. You can then deploy these operatives to counter the oppressive Albion regime and take back the city.
To get the most out of your squad, you should prioritize operatives with drone skills. Whether it be the ability to summon a shock drone or tinker with drones turning them into floating bombs, these are your best options for taking out enemy drones and anti-drone systems. You can also recruit a street hypnotist that temporarily turns enemies into drones and a beekeeper who unleashes an explosive non-lethal Bee Swarm on enemies.
While you can recruit most operatives through the main story, the easiest to unlock is the Drone Expert. This operative is easily accessible by heading east of the DedSec base and ending up in front of Parliament.
The Drone Expert can hack drones, allowing you to hijack them and turn them against the enemy. Additionally, he or she can use the Drone Betray Hack, letting you select an enemy to be dive-bombed by drones. As a bonus, the Drone Expert can also teleport to nearby drones, saving you time and energy.
Another great operative to have is the Spy. You’ll unlock this operative after completing all the Borough Uprising Activities in Westminster and Camden, and you should recruit them early on because they come with some pretty cool gadgets. Their P9 Silenced pistol complements a stealthy playstyle during infiltration missions, while the Spy Watch gadget jams enemy guns and their AR Cloak can hide them from pursuers when the need to escape arises. They also have a sleek Spy Car that can fire homing missiles and cloak when in danger.
You can also recruit a protestor who can agitate crowds and use Rally Cry to summon allies during melee combat. He or she can also lob Tear Gas at enemies, disorienting them and damaging them. If you want to break line of sight but don’t have a good hiding spot, the protestor can even use his or her megaphone to unleash a non-lethal Tear Gas attack that deals damage and suffocates enemies.
